This course is for students who want to learn and become licensed in Permanent Cosmetic Tattooing. The course will teach Microblading and Shading of eyebrows, lip liner, lip shading, and eyeliner, machines, needles, equipment, color theory, infectious diseases, immunization, sanitation and disinfection, safety, blood borne pathogens, anesthetics, and professional standards.

 

Admission requirements

Must be 18 years old and provide proof with a Driver’s License, State ID, Passport or birth certificate.

Must show proof of completion of secondary education with a high school diploma, official transcript, GED certificate, or home school certificate from the state. Any foreign documentation must be translated to English and must confirm the education is equivalent to a high school diploma in the US. The documentation must come from an agency that is licensed and approved, i.e. Globe Language Services or World Educational Services.

Foreign nationals who are permanent residents or have documents showing they are in process of the application and must have valid non-immigrant status, need to provide a Visa and I-94 that does not expire prior to graduation.

Bloodborne Pathogens certification and CPR/First Aid certification through website or business approved by DPOR, i.e. The Red Cross.

 

Tuition

$ 8,000.00, includes the textbook ($57.95) and kit ($1,000). $8,000.00 must be paid in full on the first day of class. Payment methods include cash, credit card, bank cashier’s check, or payments thru Cherry. 

 

Online/in-person lessons

Online curriculum lessons will be completed on Teachable.com for a total of 104 hours. Each student will create a username and password on Teachable.com. Hours completed, lesson and quiz completion will be tracked for each student with progress reports on Teachable.com.

In-person practical performance requirements will be completed in person for a total of 96 hours.

Online curriculum lessons and in-person practical performances will total 200 hours.

Days and hours of operation

Part time classes- Monday’s from 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., 30 minute lunch break, 8 hours a day, 12 total days of classes, 104 hours of asynchronous online learning, 96 hours of in person learning, 200 total hours.

Closed on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Election Day, Veteran’s Day, and Christmas Day.

Grading scale

Excellent:           100- 93

Very Good:         92- 85

Satisfactory:       84- 75

Unsatisfactory:   74 and below

A Satisfactory grade of 75% or better must be achieved on all tests in order to graduate. If a Satisfactory grade is not achieved on any tests, a retake will be required.

Practical performances will be graded as Satisfactory (100%) or Unsatisfactory (must be redone.) A practical exam on live models for each brow, lip and eyeliner must be passed in order to graduate.

A minimum of 50 practical performances on latex or on a live model shall be completed as part of the required instruction. Completion of practical performances are determined as follows:

1.  Two complete eyebrows constitutes one performance, 17 total (including a minimum of 2 eyebrows and microblading procedures.)

2.  Two complete eye liners constitutes one performance, 17 total.

3.   One complete lip liner constitutes one performance, 16 total (including 2 lip liners, 1 lip color, and 1 full lip.)

 

Attendance policy

Every student shall attend every class on time and complete the required hours to graduate. If any classes are missed, the student will have to make up the hours. Each student will sign in and out when arriving and leaving for class and break.

 

Dress code

Black top and pants are recommended due to pigment spills/splatter. Closed toe shoes are required. Hair must be pulled back when doing live models.

 

Graduation requirements

1.  Complete 96 hours of in person practical learning and 104 hours of online theory learning, 200 hours total.

2.  Pass all written and practical tests with a Satisfactory grade or 75%.

 

Licensing requirements

Students must register to take the State Board theory exam thru PSI, pay the fees and pass the exam in order to get licensed. Once the exam is passed, you can apply for the Permanent Cosmetic Tattooer license with DPOR and pay the fees. 

 

Suspension policy

A student will be suspended if the attendance policy is not followed, bullying, possession of drugs or alcohol, cheating, lying, insubordination, destruction of school property, fighting or violence and theft. If any of this is witnessed, the student will be suspended during the investigation. If the student has been found guilty, the student will be withdrawn from the class.

 

Cell phone policy

Cell phones must be kept on silent.

 

Refund policy

There will be no refunds.

 

Class materials

Pen, pencil, notebook, paper. A supply kit will be provided, it will include a tattoo machine, needles, microblades, pigment, brow outline pencil, latex practice skin and disposable supplies.
